Kenton came over again for another Warhammer game. We went bigger this time with 2,400 points each.
Khorneton had actually mostly moved to a more rotten vibe with a mainly Nurgle force.
I added more men to the mighty Empire forces.
Oh. And a sneaky Steam Tank.
Superfly Guy led the Warriors
Hounds were set to lead the line.
Some of the Nurgle followers hid in a wood.
I had my pistoliers on the flank. Determined to use them a bit more effectively.
I sent the flagellants off to die.
And "Old Faithful" poop-pooped forwards.
This was not a match up the dogs wanted.
I had something of a Knight park in the corner. Stupid Dawn Attack deployment.
Khorneton's Khorne Khaosmen ploughed through a wood.
While the dogs tried to hold things up.
Khorneton's actual hand. Yes, sorry girls, he's taken.
The field of war (hammer)
The knights went for the warriors.
And "Old Faithful" steamed into some Chosen.
A fight which went altogether better than I expected as the tank wiped them all out.
The Flagellants meanwhile kept rolling low for sacrificing themselves - which was nice for them as individuals but not much cop for them as a fighting force.
The swordsmen cheered on the frothing loonies. From a nice safe distance.
Very rapidly the fanatics were whittled away.
The knights and warriors fight ground on.
Old Faithful span on the spot and trundled into more warriors. With broadly similar results.
Still cheering from a distance.
One lot of silver knights dealt with it was time for some red ones for desert.
The Big Fat Nurgle lads went for the swordsmen
While SuperFly Guy pulled his filthy poisonous blunt instrument out and began beating it on the steam tank.
A chariot loomed up ominously, but the pistoliers were around to distract
Bravely the militia got stuck in.
The spearbus pottered up the centre at a leisurely pace.
Finally the red horsemen fled.
The chariot crashed in to the crossbows.
Would the spearbus get their in time?
Khorne Warriors and Handgunners danced around a statue of the sinister variety
Would the thin blue and white line hold?
The pistoliers tried to help the crossbowmen. But ran away leaving but a singular crossbowman remaining.
The handgunners took aim.
Hit by the spears the Nurgle warriors ran for it.
The last crossbowman dispatched the chariot faced off with the swordsmen
Good shooting stripped the Angry Red Man of his chums.
The chariot went in, as did the militia.
In the centre the remnants of the Empire force re-positioned themselves.
Despite the militia taking a bit of a pasting the Middenheim men were victorious and the chaos threat was repelled!
Cracking game played at a leisurely pace.
Steam Tanks are properly bent and broken though. Two whole units of Chaos warriors trundled over with barely a scratch to the paintwork. Only the poison of the Filthmace started to slow things down.
Looking forward to another fixture next month.
