40K Orks v Templars

Tha gaming heir is home from University and as is his wont requested a game of 40K. I have so many models for so many better sets of rules it seems a shame, but it's what he enjoys so...

He took the Templars and I took the Orks. We had some objectives to grab.

Da Ladz assembled

I took the KilloZap gun even though it is bobbins

You get a lorra, lorra Orks for 1,000 points

Klankenstein made his regular appearance

The Templars had their own Dreadnaught

And some Terminators

The Marines pushed up

While Da Boys hugged the terrain.

A sneaky rhino pushed around one flank.

The Lootas were doing a reasonable job of picking off Marines.

The Nobs got stuck in

And handed it our good and proper

An almighty scrum developed in the middle

There wasn't enough room for all the Ladz to get stuck in.

Klankenstien and the Klankettes ambushed the Rhino

Marines and a Chaplain dropped in from nowhere

The Marine Dread waded toward the fight

The Orky Walkies couldn't peel open the Rhino

The Nobs butchered the rest of the Marine squad

The Marine Dreadnaught found himself assailed.

The Chaplain realised he may have bitten off more than he could chew.

The Emperor's Champion climbed out of the Rhino and did unspeakable harm to Klankenstein

The Chaplain failed to get his guys to charge home.

"Punch him wiv da KLaw, Boss!"

"'Ere we go, 'ere we go..."

Eventually the Warboss found a weakness and inserted his fist.

With the death of the Dread game time was up and the Orks had a solid win.

I still think 40K is not a very good game, but it's fun to play soldiers with the laddo

40K Orks and Templars again

Before he returned to University the Gaming Heir and I played a last game of 40k.

I dug out a Trukk this time for da Ladz.

And the gloves were off - I bought the 'naught.

Which was fair enough as he had the filthy contraption known as a Land Raider Crusader. As well as sticking lascannon on his Dred.

He'd got a fair few marines as well, lurking in the jungle foliage (or follidge, Terrain Tutor fans).

The field of war.

High Noon.

Ok, Big Red Guy, draw!

*Good the Bad and the Ugly Sound effects*

Elsewhere the Orks were making good progress towars the Templars in the bunker.

Peaceful, harmless grots enjoying a quiet day out with their massive gun about to have their day ruined by sneaking up marines.

One lot of Orks down to a single Nob.

Look, no Grots.

Stick da boot in Ladz!

Innocent Grot blood on their hands the merciless killers swoosh on.

The Dred and Crusader managed to take out my 'naught and despite the Nobz opening up the Crusader like a Kan o' Spam the marines had secured the objectives and it was a win For The Emperor!

Fun times with the lad. Silly rules, but the models and jungle look cool.

Xenos Rampant - Orks v Templars

Matt fancied "a light skirmish something" and I had left out the jungle and the 40K models, so a game of Xenos Rampant seemed to fit the bill.

My mostly Berserker Ork boys were soon swarming around.

Jump Pack Marines stood ready.

As Sword Brethren pushed up.

Da Ladz got ready to rumble.

And were soon pushing up in the centre.

The Marines tried to attack, but the Orks counter-charged!

Marine shooting thinned the Nobs a bit.

Another mob swarmed over the hill.

As boys rumbled through the jungle.

At this point it looked to be the Orks for the taking.

However they had reckoned without Brother Captain Tiktaks who pulled the strings, stealthily concealed in the depths of the jungle (with his huge, glowing, buzzing Thunderhammer)

The Orks did well at first, easily hacking apart the Marine squads, however Marine shooting proved deadly up close and the Orks were ultimately shot down and the Marines claimed the win.
