Warmaster Battle of Five Armies Dwarfs

 I located these in the plastic pile and game them a quick and dirty paint job.

From the long OOP Games Workshop Battle of Five Armies game (that precedes the Jackson films by at least ten years) these are a little crude, but serviceable. I seem to have quite a number of sprues, so perhaps a full Dwarf army is on the cards?

SteveFest 2024 - Warhammer The Old World (4) T&T version

For the final game we played Triumph and Treachery. Even though the rules were written for a previous version they still mostly work and it gives a fun (if long) game.

I took Dwarfs once again - Kenton had Khorne Warriors and Stephen took Daemons.

The Daemons were all in one corner.

Khorne's warriors were the filling in the sandwich.

I had a big unit of Longbeards masquerading as Royal Guard Warriors.

I castled defensively, planning to let the rival Chaos factions deal with one another.

Not quite sure why the Bloodletter isn't, you know, Blood coloured...

The fickle hand of Chaos counts his cards.

The rangers sneaked out on to a flank and shot at the Chaos giant thingy.

Khorne's daemons moved up.

And prepared to charge home.

The lines clashed.

And the Daemons went to work.

Elsewhere the Chaos knights took on the Bloodletters.

A big, red bloodbath.

Some of the rarely seen green Bloodletters at the back there.

The knights dealt with the smaller Daemons, but the Big Angry Lad was still running amok.

Still the Dwarf forces stood back.

A Classic match-up

Which was only ever going to end one way...

Notice absence of big giant thingy.

The less fighty lesser Daemons got caught and Stephen was running out of bodies.

But the big guy kept going.

He faced down the Dwarfs.

Closer...

The he bottled it and picked on a warmachine.

Nom, nom, nom.

The pink Daemons were just about hanging on.

Angry Big Lad took on the hammerers.

The Stunties did their best to fight back.

However soon after this the game drew to a halt and it turned out the Stephen had won, with Kenton second and the largely passive Dwarfs a distant third.

A great fun game with plenty of cinematic moments.

Hurrah for Warhammer.

SteveFest 2024 - Warhammer The Old World (3)

 Another day, another game of Warhammer.

Fortified with a good night's sleep we set up another game.

This time Stephen would take 2,000 points of Wolves of the Sea against our combined Orcs (me) and Chaos Warriors (Kenton)

I had a big block o'boys

And some rough, tough Black Orcs.

And boarboys too.

Stephen's Marauders stood waiting.

Those Dragon Ogres again!

And some Werewolves.
There wolves.

The field of war.

A slightly different angle.

The long lines of evil

Another Daemon Prince had arrived.

The Chaos Lord was on a Daemonic mount of some sort.

The Nurgle wizard began by casting a vortex.

He did this several times.

And each time Stephen waited until his turn and then dispelled it.

Easily.

Vortex spells are rubbish.

The Orcs pushed up a bit.

And the Wolves came on.

Smashing in to some Black Orcs.

Turns out you have to do clever things with the Black Orc profiles to make them really good.

To no one's great surprise I hadn't done this, I'd just picked Black Orcs.

Soon Wolves were fighting warriors.

Turns out Wolves are just pretty good all round.

The Red Knights of Nurgle (ask Kenton) were also getting charged.

The battle was on.

Screams and curses echoed across the field of battle.

We should probably cut that out.

The Black Orcs were finding the going to be tough.

And the Orc boys soon found themselves assailed from multiple directions.

Bumblebee Man buzzed to the rescue.

However this didn't end well.

Pretty soon the boys were fleeing.

The warriors at least bought pain to the Marauders.

But as the sun set over the battlefield it was the Wolves who held fast.

Another good fun game. And because it was his birthday we let Stephen win.
