I started painting this guy back in October for the Northstar Halloween painting competition. But got distracted. Another Christmas finish up model.
Lovely model and has me thinking again about a Dragon Rampant or Midgard undead force.

For my birthday the Gaming Heir (retd.) bought me a box of the Frostgrave plastic wizards.
So I made a couple of them up as a Necromancer and an Elementalist to lead their warbands (meaning I can reclaim the Fire Wizard and Oathmark Necromancer for games of Warhammer and Dragon Rampant.)
Lovely models to put together and paint.
I'm a sucker for a freebie limited edition model.
I'd just about convinced myself I didn't need Frostgrave Second Edition when Nic at Northstar revealed the rather lovely Thaumaturge Apprentice model you'd get with pre-orders. It coincided with needing some retail therapy, so I was in.
And naturally there's no point having an apprentice without a wizard, is there? So I ordered the matching model
They make a nice couple.
Only trouble is, now I need some soldiers to accompany them.
You can't really have a genie without a lamp, now can you?
Despite lockdown putting a stop to plans for some Frostgrave games with Martin I've pressed on with a bit of painting.
I really like this Genie model from the official Northstar range.
Simple paintjob, the skin is contrast - I originally painted the trousers with contrast too, but the purple isn't great so I ended up repainting. Needs some snow on the base. Eventually.
