Matt came over for another Warmaster game - I'm keen on getting to grips with the Daemon army and he decided this time to take Dark Elves.
Just the 1500 points as that's all I have for both these forces (though I hope to get the Daemons to 2k in the near future).
The line of battle
The evil Dark Elves
The cavalry launched themselves at the Dark Riders
However they disgraced themselves and could only draw.
On the other flank the sorcerer kept blundering - one of which resulted in the Daemon flyers charging other Dark Riders again with mixed results.
My centre was stalled as a result of blundering.
My right was also somewhat disarrayed.
The Witch Elves were forced to charge the flyers
Finally the Daemon centre got moving.
The big maggot monsters failed to charge home.
And the Khorne hordes found themselves surrounded.
With devastating results (those dice are the hits!)
Inevitably the monsters were cornered.
Finally the second horde brigade made it in to combat
In desperation, with my break point fast approaching the Greater Daemon launched himself in to the Cold Ones.
The hordes struggled against the defended elves in the woods.
The Greater Daemon flubbed his attacks and was driven back by the Cold Ones.
The hordes had bounced away from the woods and suffered more Dark Elf shooting
The Greater Daemon was duly surrounded.
Big win for the Dark Elves.
I was handicapped by some very poor dice - the sorcerer blundered twice in succession! But also i think Daemons are hard to use at this point level plus the Greater Daemon is not a good choice at less than 2k points.
So it's back to the painting table to get some more hordes and cavalry painted to take me up to proper sized 2,000 point games.
