Three Player Lord of the Rings MESBG

Another game with my chum and Young N - who is very much not all that young any more and in fact probably taller than both me and his Dad.

We did a deployment based on the Triumph and Treachery Warhammer one when you pick a square and deploy your army more than 12" away from the enemy. We would then earn points for killing models (more for characters and monsters) with a bonus for killing your hated enemy General (secretly revealed by the draw of a card).

A predictable bloodbath ensued (apologies for the low quality phone pics).

My Easterlings were soon duking it out with the Morannon Orcs of N. Secretly I needed to kill his general, but that character was deployed facing against the Gondor forces on the far side of the board.

Where he was helping the Cave Troll tackle some Ghosts (Wooooo-wooooo!)

Easterlings had numbers, but Orcs had better fight, so it was a bit of a grind.

Eventually I cornered the Orc Captain and racked up VPs by taking him down.

Finally the Gondorians got moving and came to join the party.

The Troll proved a massive hindrance, laying waste to the men of the west.

By now courage tests were starting to bite. Made worse for the Morannons by the presence of Khamul.

Soon there were few men or Orcs left alive (plus a big angry Troll)

Eventually the troll's courage failed him and I was able to murder the last of the Gondorians ans claim the victory!

MESBG is a very jolly little system (despite efforts by GW to make it much more complicated than necessary.
