A trip to the Island of Men for our Annual SteveFest event. First up a game of Triumph and Treachery with 1200 point armies, which we reckon is the sweet spot. T&T works just fine with Warhammer The Old World - there are a couple of the cards we remove from the deck as they reference old rules, but for most of the rest it works fine and we just muddle through or make up any irregularities we find.
I took my Kislev forces, the Renegade Crowns rules from Settra's Fury give a reasonable approximation of a Kislev force - you can't quite do Kossars, but everything else kind of works. Stephen took a Troll Horde army and Kenton had his Night Goblin force.
The goblins had lots of bouncy, red friends along
The Troll Horde had plenty of Orcs too
The Troll's tame giant thundered into the red masses.
And was met with swirling squiggy fury
Meanwhile River Trolls had snuck around the Kislev flank
The winged lancers found this tough going
And fell beneath Trollish axes.
Horse archers found themselves in a stand off with Trolls
And the Kislev foot archers too...
...were staring down a smelly Troll barrel
The stand off ended inevitably
Elsewhere the Griffon Legion had run down some archers.
But overran into a less than ideal position.
The Trolls continued their murderous rampage
The Goblin horde thumped home into the Griffon Legion
Stickin an a stabbin as they went
Bouncy lads found themselves some Orc archers to chew on
The Orc chariot ran down the Kislev axemen!
And, with left over Orc dripping from their toothy mouths the hoppers bounced into more horse archers.
With predictable results.
As the game came to a halt the Night Goblins had harvested themselves a whole Hag's Worth of material for some new trousers and claimed the field and the victory!
Great fun, colourful game.
Then we stopped for refreshments.
Next up High Elves come to the party....
