Midgard at Partizan

Once again James invited me to help out with his game at Partizan. I say "game" but it was in fact two games aiming to show off how Midgard works with different settings and scales.

I spent the day playing through the 15mm Degsastan scenario with chum Andy.

All the models are from James' collection. Wiglaf Saxons (on the left) and Forged in Battle Celtic types (on the right)

Unlike his 28s which use sabots these are based on 80mmx40mm movement bases from Warbases

It was a classic Dark age "across the river" barttle.

Yahtzee!
My greatest ever dice roll I reckon.
Completely wiped out a unit of Dal Riadan skirmishers.

Battle soon joined across the river.

The Saxons went ahead early...

But gradually the Scots forced them back

At one point the Scottish king found himself deserted by his men alone against the Saxons!

But I failed to finish him off

And victory slipped from my grasp!

We played at a leisurely pace all day and had lots of great chats with people about the rules - "when's it coming out" being the main one. The answer to which was "It's in The Hands of the Lard"

Over on the other end of the table James Pete and Martin were showing off the full mythic possibilities of the rules with Trolls, Dwarfs, Giants and of course Thor himself.

Again lots of interest and questions and busy all day long.
