Afghan Scenery

A couple of people pointed out that the Ooknall valley in my last game was a little bereft of cover for the attacking Pathans.

So I've taken steps to remedy that.

First some walls

These two were made by mixing some small stones with PVA and water then putting them in a mould shape made from foam core lined with greaseproof paper.
When dry (and you need to wait a few days) peel off the paper. Then I based them on lolly sticks and painted with various tester pots. They're actually more beige/brown in RL than these pictures appear)

This next wall was made by just supegluing down layers of small stones. Laborious and sticky.
Then painted the same way.
But a bit more fitting the tumbledown aesthetic of my minds eye view of the NWF.

Here's a couple of Pathans lurking in cover.

I shall make more of these.

Next up some generic rocky outcrops.

Made from bark chips liberated from a playground a while ago. Sorry kids.

Hot glued down to some lino floor tiles then painted with tester pots.
Again they look lighter and greyer than they are.

Now with added lurkers.

Again more of these needed.
Along with a few more wooded areas and some "broken ground"

  1. Very good...you can't have too much cover!

  2. Lovely looking terrain. Having served in Afghanistan the terrain is quite varied and your last game looked like parts where the Pathans still live. Again, great job.
