Warhammer 8th Edition Orcs v. Chaos

I realised I hadn't invited Kenton over for a game for a while. So I rectified that. Despite talk after our last game of painting new armies (Lizards for him, Chaos for me) we'd neither of us done anything, so he was stuck with Chaos and I, seeing as it was Orctober, went with Orcs.

Waaagh Gruzzkupp surges past the Empire watch tower (must paint up the crew for the yellow chariot. As I say after every game)

I sent some lads on a kunnin' and brutal march up one flank.

The chariots screened the advance.

Animosity was most kind to me in this game.

Big Bad Daemon Lad was back.

And the Juggers. Who were a bit frightened of the trolls after the last game.

I sent the boarboys on a brutal and kunnin' flank march.

The trolls crested the hill...

And the juggers soiled their shiny red armour, but managed to charge home.

Things went rather better for the Khorne lads this time and the trolls ran away.

Fortunately Gruzzkupp himself was able to charge them in the flank. And murder them in the face.

All three chariots smashed home. But sadly the Chaos lads held firm.

The giant went to stomp on the Chaos Chariot.

But slipped and fell!

Nurgles boys went toe--to-toe with Black Orcs.
Well...killed lots of Black Orcs who aren't nearly as good as you want them to be.

One of the chariots ran away.

It all kicked off on the hill.

The juggers all dead Gruzzkupp returned to the fray.

Over on the flank Nurgle warriors were still killing Black Orcs and making both them and the regular boys run away.

The giant got up, crushed the chariot to matchwood but then got Berserkers in the side.

With predictable results. He didn't even fall on them when he died.

Gruzzkupp reclaimed the hill (and quite a few flags in the process).

The Big Bad Daemon Lad dealt with the trolls, though not without wounding himself several times in entertaining fashion.

The Berserkers, maddened with bloodlust faced the Big Uns on the hill. The day belonged to Chaos, they did not need to have this fight...

...

...

Blood  for the Blood God!!!

The Khorne BSB cut down Gruzzkupp.

In return the Big Uns killed the rest of the Khorne unit.

Nurgles followers watched on and chuckled, mirthlessly.

The Big Uns held the hill, but Chaos claimed the victory.

That was a great game that swung back and forth.

I'd forgotten how much I like my Orc army...might have to paint some more...
