Perry Egyptian Infantry for the Sudan

I had a yearning to add to my Sudan collection. I've painted plenty of tribesmen but the British force remains incomplete. As a change from the 4x regulars of my NWF TMWWBK British collection I thought I'd add some white clad Egyptians.

Lovely jolly Perry models and nice and quick to paint. I like the slightly "toy soldier" feel of them all marching along.

Now I've taken the pictures it looks like the bases need a bit of work.

I think I'll order the command set and six more to give me two full units of 12.

Dry stone walls

For variety I made some dry stone walls for temparate European climates (or Warhammer)

PVA and small stones mixed together, put into a mould, glued to tongue depressors and then painted.

If anything I've made them a bit too substantial but I think they'll look good on the tabletop.

A few more with gates/gaps will be needed.

More Afghan scenery

Plodding on with populating the NWF

Still more needed I think

More walls

A while ago I made some walls.

Now I've made some shorter bits.

4x 4" and 4x 3" I think.

That's probably enough of this type for the time being.

Lady Godiva

I got this model some years ago with a subscription to Wargames Illustrated.

She came with the nude Godiva model I painted as Epona for OGAM. This model represents the Lady as the pious Dark Age woman she actually was.

Nice little model that will make a good objective or bit of set dressing for a Dark Age game.

Nemean Lion for OGAM

I spotted this model a little while ago on Bad Squiddo's website and thought he'd make a good Nemean Lion for Of Gods and Mortals games

He's a reasonably large lad as you can see. Ideal for Hercules to wrestle with.

Just need to buy a Hercules now.

Private Widdle in Disguise

Based on the character played by Charles Hawtrey in Carry on Up the Khyber this model is from Artizan and comes with the Khazi and Bungit Din models I painted a while ago.

My paint job has made him look rather younger than Hawtry did as Pvt. Widdle
