Ap-Ork-alypse Now

Another Wednesday, another Ork threesome down the Ilko Gaming Hut.

900 points apiece this time.
Waaagh Ballruum were sporting a new Warboss on a big old bike (who for reasons best known to himself deployed behind the rest of his army).

One objective on a building each - three points for each one held at the end of the game.

At this point I chose to unleash the first ever Waaagh of the campaign.

Everyone was so impressed that i'd even remembered that they chose to mark the occasion by awarding me an extra victory point!

Sadly this was the highpoint of the game for me.

The boys charging the flamers got roasted and ran away, the boys charging the Ballruum boys flubbed their attacks and could only manage a draw and as for my Warboss...

It turns out ramming things is rubbish.

At the end of the game I'd come third.

And the other two had tied for victory.

Warboss Ballruum expired good and proper in the post game wrap-up. So now General B will have to paint his fourth one of the campaign.

Warhammer Kislev Winged Lancers

Anyone remember Kislevember?
Well, nearly six months on...

They need shields - six months is long enough for things to go missing.

Of course near the end of the process I realised my mistake - I should have done a unit of six, then I could use them for Dragon Rampant.

Kallistra WW1 Late British (9)

Eight more stands of the lovely Kallistra WW1 Late War British infantry.
This brings me to 48 stands of infantry - which is what James and I need for the game at Partizan at the end of May.
Just need to finish some additional MGs and artillery and make a command stand or two and my bit of this game is done. So, All Over By Christmas Easter.

Another Ork 3 player 40K game

Back once again to the Ilko Gaming Hut for more escalating Ork action.
Again I'm not sure I can really remember what happened.
There were extra points to be had for capturing objectives in the central town, a foetid, crumbling inhospitable dump known as Derbi.

In the end Warhammer 40K was the winner.

And also Steve was the winner.

Hills for TMWWBK

I have made some hills from insulating foam offcuts.
Taking pictures of scenery is a challenge - I tried these outdoors in the sunshine - not sure it worked.

They look very pale in these pictures, they're a more creamy brown colour in r/l. Intended to be rocky mountainous stuff for Pathans to sweep down from on unsuspecting plucky Brits.

Orks 'n' Orks 'n' Orks (again)

Sorry blog I've been neglecting you a little. Been quite busy with that dull so called "real" life. And also been on holibobs to France - which was lovely.
Anyway, I do have some stuff to report on.
Starting with this the AAR of another game in our 3 player Ork 40K escalation campaign.
This (I think) was the 700 point game.
Unfortunately I've had several sleeps and several bottles of wine since this was played, so I've no real idea what happened - so you'll just have to look at the pictures and make some stuff up.

It was around this time that Stephen and I realised we had nothing in our armies capable of dealing with Mega Armoured Nobz.

Fortunately they're very slow and had been deployed out on a flank.

Sadly the battle didn't go well for Gruzzkup as he was the meat in the other Orks' sandwich.

At the end of a fun and furious fight it turned our Waaagh Ballruum had won! Much

to everyone's amazement - not least General Ballroom himself.
