Finally added some shields and bases to these (and painted a few more while I was at it) to start off the mortal element of my Viking Of Gods and Mortals factions.
The longer I own these models the less I like them.
Also the shield transfers were a bind and all needed quite heavy over-painting
But they're "done" now.
Apart from the fact that I need to paint another one to get two units of 8.
Just in case anyone was wondering the images, words, crap jokes and all the other bits of content on these page remain my copyright. You don't have my permission to copy them or post them anywhere else on the web. This includes you Tango01 you thieving shitweasel.

Skeletons for Of Gods and Mortals (2)
Thanks to the generosity of General Ballroom (Victrix shields) and chum Martin (LBMS transfers) I've made the skeletons look properly ready to enter the service of Hades.
Thanks very much chaps.

Found the chap with the sword who accompanied the two with spears I finished recently.
Genikós the mighty Greek Hero!
Model is Crusader Miniatures, shield transfer from Little Big Men

Sudanese warriors
More from the Perry boxed set of Ansar, matching the ones from May.
I think this means I'm done with the native forces. Now to crack on with some Red Coats to fight alongside the 3rd Foot and Mouth.
6 rifles, including a leader
4 beja
A pair of regular Sudanese spearmen

Warhammer 8th Ed. Orcs v Wood Elves
Steve and I fancied an evening of Proper Warhammer followed by a curry.
And so, being grown men in charge of our own destinies and able to do as we please, that's exactly what we did. Mrs Steve was away and the Current Mrs Tom's Toy Soldiers fancied a quiet night in and wanted me out of her hair.
Warhammer of course, plus some funny tins of lager-y beer.
We played the funny diagonal set up. Steve had improved his Welfs since the last game by tooling up their shooting.
I had the boarboys and the big block o' Night Goblins.
The trolls stayed near my Warboss in the centre.
The stag rider things declared a charge on my chariots, which unleashed a fanatic from the nearby archers. Sadly he whirled too short
Treekin. And a very old, very pink wizard. Steve took fire magic on the wizard. because a wood based fire creator is funny.
Durthu came along for the ride.
And some more old models, Glade Guard this time.
Durthu and the Trolls decided to have it out.
Meanwhile Steve's block of 30 archers were all shooting, hitting on 3s with flaming arrows and poison.
My Big Uns died in droves.
The boraboys were charged at the ford.
And the stag thingys finally charged the chariot.
The Glade Guard killed the boarboys, so Nubbinz bounced over t try and hold them until the Giant could get there.
By this stage Durthu was covered in diced carrot and fish heads after the trolls had repeatedly been sick on him.
Just as the giant was about to ride to the rescue he got some antlers up the rear. He killed them, but then ran in to a treeman who did him in.
And with that the game was over.
So we went for curry and beer.

Grots (and a Kustom Mega Kannon)
Some time ago I assembled and painted the Kustom Mega Kannon that General B. gave me a while ago.
But I didn't do the crew.
That's now been resolved. Almost*.
Very jolly and characterful and all that, but it took me ages to work up the enthusiasm to paint up all the extra detail on what are, essentially some wound markers.
Here they are with their pride and joy.
*There's one still to do who's supposed to be actually on the model, peering through the shield. Eventually, eventually.

Ork Painboy Conversion
I wanted a Mad Dok (yes, yes, I know that's the special character, but it's what I call them. And so does Stephen). But I didn't want one enough to pay £12 for a single plastic model.
So I decided to do some kunnin' konvertin.
Black Ork Nob body, Power Klaw from the Nob sprue, resin barrel from I can't remember, bit of wire, some clear yellow rod and a needle made from spare Nortshar spear with part of a plastic lamp from lord knows what kit.
Bish, bash and indeed bosh.
I like to think he's reaching forward with his klaw and asking some unfortunate Boy to cough.
