I *was* hoping to debut an all new Vampire Counts army at Summer Sizzler next weekend, but that plan has been derailed...
Anyway I got some more Zombies done

And so to the final game. Usually every Warmaster Tournament I go to I end up playing regular opponent Alan. Only Alan couldn't make it this time, so instead in game three I ended up playing regular opponent Andy with his Wood Elves. Which was all good with me.
The table was ludicrously scenery heavy. The organisers were experimenting with ways to reduce the (IMO entirely fictitious) perceived dominance of heavy cavalry in the game. It certainly had the effect of making my Kislev army quite hard to use, though I'm not sure that was the intention.
How much terrain is too much terrain...?
Ok, time has very much moved on and my memory is growing dim, but here's the pictures and what little I can remember from game two.
After my unexpected success in round one I found myself at the dizzy heights of table ten where i was to face Connor and his Chaos.
We were in the desert. of course we were, Where else would Kislev be most likely to fight Chaos, eh?
Wormaster is one of my favourite wargame events of the year. Held in Worcester (hence the name) and this was the 4th one I'd been to. Andy and I travelled down together, Alan was indisposed abd I was taking the Kislev forces for what may be their final tournament outing for a while - I'm hoping to have a new army for Summer Sizzler.
First game I was drawn against John, who I'd met at last year's excellent Warmaster 25 event that he'd organised. He had a lovely looking Lizardman army with *no* cavalry.
The scenario involved holding objectives at the end of the game.
Broad, wintry plains, ideal for hardy Kislevites and somewhat more challenging for cold-blooded Lizardmen.
Our Warmaster campaign seems to have rapidly lost momentum. One player has moved to Italy in order to avoid taking part and another Italian has surrendered without playing a single game. You are free to make up your own jokes based on stereotypes at this point.
Anyway, frantically persisting Andy and I met - he with his Ogres, me with my Kislev. He recently traded in his part painted metal Ogres for some resin ones that are more like the Warhammer Ogre figures. I rather liked the "characterful" nature of the metal sculpts and if I ever do an Ogre army I'd get some of those, but Andy disagreed. Anyway that's why his army is barely painted at all.
Here's the video version of events:
