Warmaster Chaos v. Nippon

Chum Matt has been working on a Nippon army using the Wargames Atlantic 10mm plastics. He's also painted up some themed scenery. So it was time to get them on the table.

Unfortunately the STLs he has for the more fantasy elements of the army are proving resistant to printing so it was quite a vanilla army - but that did mean it was also huge with a break point of 14!

Here's a video of the whole shebang

And now the analogue version.

Great fun game that resulted in a draw. We played the pitched battle scenario using the random game length rules from the rulebook which saw a sudden end after five turns with both of us having killed around 850 points.

Good to see the Nippon army on the table.

Lord of the Rings three player

I still have some games to catch up on, but this one is striking while the iron is hot, played on Saturday just gone.

The usual suspects for our three player MESBG games. Hosted by NSYN - all scenery his work - in fact only the Easterlings were mine.

I managed to locate an "official" three-player scenario from White Dwarf. The central tower contained gold which we had to get back to our huts.

I got my Easterling archers up on a hill. From whence they proved again how useless archery is in MESBG.

My Kataphrakts charged wold riders and a succession of 6s saw them all die very quickly.

meanwhile I raced for the tower.

With two more Kataphrakts heading off to mess up the Gondorians.

The King of the Dead decided to deal with the Cave Troll personally.

I was making off with plenty of gold (blue/beads) but Gondor was doing well too. The Orcs were mostly dying.

My remaining Kataphrakt was finding it difficult to kill any Gondorians.

The Ringwraith was trying to snipe my General for bonus victory points.

Soon my gold gatherers found an angry Dead Ruler hunting them down.

Faramir too was proving resilient.

The Dead Blokes were ruthless in dealing with my forces.

In the end Gondor had the most gold, had killed most Generals, was unbroken and the clear winner.

The scenario worked well and it all looked very jolly.

Midgard: Goblins v Dwarfs

I am very behind on posting. This is a game James, Martin and I played back in August.

Playtesting a mini-campaign James is developing for Midgard Martin bought some of the Dwarfs, James bought the terrain and I provided all the Greenskins and a few extra Dwarfs too.

It's a long while ago, so I've forgotten most of what happened - so basically this is eye candy!
I did video things, so if I can find time to edit a short film may arrive at some point.

Anyway, pictures.

Anyway, much fun and plenty of to-and fro. Demonstrating too that Midgard works just as well for fantasy as it does for historicals.
