40K Orks and Templars again

Before he returned to University the Gaming Heir and I played a last game of 40k.

I dug out a Trukk this time for da Ladz.

And the gloves were off - I bought the 'naught.

Which was fair enough as he had the filthy contraption known as a Land Raider Crusader. As well as sticking lascannon on his Dred.

He'd got a fair few marines as well, lurking in the jungle foliage (or follidge, Terrain Tutor fans).

The field of war.

High Noon.

Ok, Big Red Guy, draw!

*Good the Bad and the Ugly Sound effects*

Elsewhere the Orks were making good progress towars the Templars in the bunker.

Peaceful, harmless grots enjoying a quiet day out with their massive gun about to have their day ruined by sneaking up marines.

One lot of Orks down to a single Nob.

Look, no Grots.

Stick da boot in Ladz!

Innocent Grot blood on their hands the merciless killers swoosh on.

The Dred and Crusader managed to take out my 'naught and despite the Nobz opening up the Crusader like a Kan o' Spam the marines had secured the objectives and it was a win For The Emperor!

Fun times with the lad. Silly rules, but the models and jungle look cool.

Xenos Rampant - Orks v Templars

Matt fancied "a light skirmish something" and I had left out the jungle and the 40K models, so a game of Xenos Rampant seemed to fit the bill.

My mostly Berserker Ork boys were soon swarming around.

Jump Pack Marines stood ready.

As Sword Brethren pushed up.

Da Ladz got ready to rumble.

And were soon pushing up in the centre.

The Marines tried to attack, but the Orks counter-charged!

Marine shooting thinned the Nobs a bit.

Another mob swarmed over the hill.

As boys rumbled through the jungle.

At this point it looked to be the Orks for the taking.

However they had reckoned without Brother Captain Tiktaks who pulled the strings, stealthily concealed in the depths of the jungle (with his huge, glowing, buzzing Thunderhammer)

The Orks did well at first, easily hacking apart the Marine squads, however Marine shooting proved deadly up close and the Orks were ultimately shot down and the Marines claimed the win.

More 40K - Orks v Templars

Round two of the Christmas holiday combat with youngest son.

Warboss Gruzzkupp and his Nobs

The field of war (at a weird jaunty angle).

Klankenstein leads the way.

Orks hidden in da jungle.

The Evil Templars lurking by a bunker.

More Evil Templars.

The Lootas wisely found themselves a sandbagged emplacement.

Klankenstein and the Nobs pushed toward the centre (and the Milkman objective).

While the Killa Kans went hunting bike.

Other Boyz hugged the jungle.

Bike versus Killy Death Bot - who will win?

Swooping from the skies on their fancy jet packs.

Closing in on Da Milko

It's all kicking off!

Ladz everywhere.

*Ineffectual dakka noises*

Still in Da Jungle.

Mazzi Ratti crashes his buggy home.

In the Grim Darkness of the Lush Green Jungle...

Terminators?! Whelp!

Kans Killin' bikes, Ladz killin' jet pack boys.

Oh, the Termies seem to have dealt with the Nobs.

But elsewhere Evil Templars are getting a good shoeing

*More ineffectual dakka sounds*

As the battle came to a close I'd done enough to secure the win by dint og having control of more objectives for longer. Another turn and I suspect I'd have been wiped out, but Orks are good in short, fast bursts.

Warmaster Revolution: Daemons v. Chaos

Monday night is Warmaster night, so Alan bought his Daemons and I dug out the Chaos.

Here's the battle in video format:

Alan's lovely brightly coloured Nurgle army was ready

Big blocks of Daemons.

A looooong line of Chaos.

Dragon guy was ready to lead the line.

The field of war!

The Daemon left flank pushed up.

The dogs stood ready. They stood there most of the game.

The Chaos horse stands ready.

The Knights and chariots got it on.

As the Warriors occupied a field.

The big blocks of Daemons moved up.

Big face off.

The Daemons had snarfled most of the objectives.

The objective at the foot of the hill was secured.

The Warriors did what warriors do, and charged.

The Dragon Ogres got caught in the flank.

And Daemons began to surround the warriors.

With inevitable results.

The Knights and chariots fought on.

Big Daemon Beasts made themselves comfortable in a ploughed field.

Thelast of the mortals were wrapped up and destroyed.

Big win for the Daemons. I had some poor command roles, but was also outmanoeuvred and outplayed too.
