More finishings up from the paint table.
Had these for ages.
Would like to play some Sudan games this year - I've painted loads of tribesmen.
Would quite like to give The sword and the Flame a try, though TMWWBK would also be fine.
Just in case anyone was wondering the images, words, crap jokes and all the other bits of content on these page remain my copyright. You don't have my permission to copy them or post them anywhere else on the web. This includes you Tango01 you thieving shitweasel.

French Napoleonics
Just three French line infantry.
Perry plastic figures.
I'd like to play some more Napoleonics this year - but the Sherwood Hucknall and Ilkeston Team isn't keen.

Warhammer 8th ed High Elves v. Dwarfs
In what's turning into a mini War of the Beard, Steve and I faced off in the North Notts Palais des Jeux with our High Elves and dwarfs for 2000 points of Warhammer.
We rolled up the diagonal deployment scenario and the dwarf host deployed first. Minus their general who was delayed.
Steve had swapped out his Griffon Lord for a spell caster of some sort. He bought the FrostyFlap along again. I was hoping to give it a cannonball to the beak again.
Steve rolled an unholy number of 1s for deployment meaning almost none of his army was on the board.
Inevitably he then rolled a six to steal the first turn and this happened.
My Dwrfs duly trudged forward into a hail of arrows.
Eventually the Warriors managed to charge some Dragon Riders
Meanwhile FrostyFlap and some Reavers swung around the flank.
At this point FrostyFlap once again took a cannonball to the beak.
However he was carrying a 4+ ward save at this point, so shrugged it off.
*sigh*
By now the hammerers had fallen to the Swordmasters - without the general in their ranks they were easy meat.
Frosty ploughed into the crossbowmen...
...and inevitably....
With short warm bodies running out the Lord joined some Thunderers.
And went toe to to with the Elf general - and murdered his face off.
However it was too little too late and bragging rights remain with the pointy-ears.
The scenario plus Steve winning the first turn meant I was always fighting an uphill battle. However, Dwarfs being tough little buggers did mean the end result was a bit closer than it felt at the time.
Hurrah for Warhammer!

Warhammer 8th edition Dwarfs v. High Elves
It would appear that Steve and I have been very remiss and we have not played a game of Proper Warhammer 8th edition manliness since 2019!
So with a free Saturday afternoon/evening we rectified that.
I dusted off the Dwarfs and Steve picked out his High Elves that he had a brief surge of enthusiasm for last year. They're not quite all finished but they're nearly there.
I rolled up the scenario where you have fortitude and a break point and stuff. The scenery came up with a dwarf brewery and I put the old hold model on one cormer of the table as if the Dwarfs were defending their homeland.
Steve had a Frosty Phoenix and some Dragon Princes.
And lots of pointy sticks.
The Dwarf line spread out to meet the foe.
The foe.
The High Elf general decided to deal with the rangers who had deployed to defend the brewery.
It went as expected. However the desire to defend the ale kept the dwarf (singular) in place.
Meanwhile the DPs sneaked around the flank.
The dwarfs held back at first - partly to try and thin the elves with shooting and partly because they were worried about being zapped by a sinister statue.
The Lord killed the Lone Ranger, but was then shot from his mount by thunderers in the brewhouse. The Griffon stayed to guard the body.
The hammerers drew a large amount of bow fire.
So they were a little light on numbers when they hit the Swordmasters.
The Longbeards too, were running low on numbers for tackling a block of spear.
The hammerers failed to go through the Swordmasters and their doom was sealed by a flank charge.
The Quarrelers took knight to the face.
The clansdwarfs sought to avenge the Longbeards
The quarellers lost, fled, rallied and turned to face the princes once more.
However it was all too late - the spear elves cut down the dwarf BSB and with that the dwarf fortitude dropped below the line and the high Elves claimed the win.
Really good to get the WFB toys out again Both these books suffer from being "late eighth" so they feel packed with special rules for every unit. They were a pretty good match for one another, but I expect neither will be much fun to face with the Orcs and Goblins.

More Warmaster Kislev Horse Archers
These are the Kislev Horse archers that I painted when Warmaster was released many years ago.
I intended to do a quick touch up and rebase job, but ended up doing more than that to get them to match the ones from the previous post.
And for comparison, here's what they used to look like.
