Warmaster Revolution: Kislev v Dark Elves

As a "warm-up" for Warmaster 25 I needed to get the Kislev on the table for a first ever game. Matt kindly agreed to give me a run out against his Dark Elves.

Here's the video version of things:

Some of the models in my Kislev army are older than the Warmaster game itself - a few of them even painted in time for the game release, however I'd never got round to painting a full army of them until now.

WE played a pitched battle just to give me a bit of a feel for the army ahead of venturing up to Scotland for the event.

I had two war wagons, including a just painted red one (more pictures to follow at some point)

I also had my green one. Rather unkindly Matt landed some harpies behind me

Not quite all the Kislev army was finished, so there ae a few Empire models standing in - some pistoliers in this case.

Splendid to see a big block of cavalry.

Matt's Dark Elves had a Manticore with them.

And a scary block of Cold One Knights

My light cavalry were soon feasting on Dark Riders.

However the Cold Ones got in the first charge in the centre and tore the flower of Kislev to pieces.

The Cold Ones were battered but remained a potent threat.

The war wagons proved immovable, but I have the feeling they're easily ignored.

The battle ended in a victory for the Druchii but I learned a thing or two about Kislev - including how hard War Wagons are to shift.

Here's a few more phone pictures

Onwards to Warmaster 25!
