Got through the first five of the Empire crossbowmen.
Painted in the colours of the Middenheim East Gate Crossbow Detachment, or Von Schiltz's Whitelegs as they are colloquially known.
Nice and easy to paint, though the detail on the crossbow is a little fiddly.
I'm not entirely convinced by them as models, the fact they're based on the state troop plastic models means they're all in marching poses, which seems a little incongruous for a missile unit, especially a move or fire one, but there's no denying they're great little sculpts.
They still need their bases doing. I'm fast approaching a point when I need to do a big batch o' bases for this army.
Five more and I have a unit.
Very nice work on these classic troops.
ReplyDeleteThey look great, love the heads!
ReplyDeleteThese look great! I believe this range of plastics were the best/easiest for the modeller to paint....well done with these
ReplyDeleteNice work!
ReplyDeleteDear Sirs,
ReplyDeleteI am writing to complain about the unrealistic painting speed you are flagrantly displaying on you blog. This is leading to paint envy and general moping for me and I assume many other 5 models a month jockeys. Kindly refrain from such behavior in the future.
Yours Dissappointedly.
Jason
