This model has been on my painting station for ages. I finished the rest of the pack ages ago, but they've languished in their basecoats for quite some time. He's a Gripping Beast model from the casualties and killers set.
However I'm having a bit of a purge of the painting queue, so I bashed this one into shape and here's the results.
I'm not sure how I feel about the figure to be honest. I know things like this went on, and it's quite nicely sculpted, but I'm not sure I really want it on my gaming table - it crosses some sort of line for me I think. Which probably explains why it sat on the paint table for so long.
Gruesome. I can understand why it languished in your painting queue. Nevertheless, nice brushwork.
ReplyDeleteA horrible scene, but I like it still.
ReplyDeleteNice paintjob, good choice of colors!
Great paintwork...bloody dut great!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, when I was younger such a scene wouldn't have bothered me one bit, but as I get older things like that do.
ReplyDeletenice paint job - good detail. Maybe a little claret on the captives front ?
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing
Dan
You could think of it like this, the one kneeling is a hostage and he´s being Held like that to intimidate the Opposition into surrendering, that´s why there´s no blood. Strange Thing is, I was going to add a similar Scene with a scottish and english soldier to the dead and wounded to my blog post today but decided against, not due to any ethical grounds, just that I didn´t like the poses but yours look fine..and well painted.
ReplyDeleteAwesome vignette.
ReplyDeleteStunning paint work!
ReplyDeleteCruel but real ....
ReplyDeletevery good painting work !
Very well painted and based. I have no problem looking at it but probably wouldn't game with it for similar reasons.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the feedback, chaps.
ReplyDeleteGood to know I'm not the only one with qualms about the model.
And thanks for all the kind words about the panting.
