More British Napoleonics

These models have been sitting around awaiting paint for a while.

Now they need wait no longer.

Three come from the Perry Plastic British set.
The Officer is a Victrix model.

The Victrix set really isn't very good. It was their first and they've learned a lot since. In particular the officer has a most peculiar, huchback type pose with the head thrust unnaturally forward.
The rest of the set was ludicrously over complicated - more like a Tamiya model kit than a set of soldiers. Most of mine remain on the sprues to this day.

This gives me a few more command to add to stands for games of Rebels and Patriots

  1. Nice work they look the part despite your reservations about the sculpts 👍

    1. Thanks matt.
I think three of the sculpts (the Perry ones) are lovely and hope I've done vague justice to them.
It's just Captain Quasi-Modo I'm less keen on

  2. I agree with your sentiment on the Victrix British and am solidly sticking to the Perry stuff at the moment, although there was one unit of Warlord Chevaux-leger recently that I rather regretted.

    1. I quite liked the Warlord Lancers set. Their horses (possibly because they're digital sculpts?) went together beautifully whereas the Perry horses needed a lot of fiddling and fettling (though they are more dynamic).

    2. They are nice enough, but the legs are rather spindly and the greatcoat is over the wrong shoulder, and don't get me started on the box art ;)
