More Frostgrave Skeletons

Final five from the Oathmark box

That's probably enough for Frostgrave for now. Though I do fancy a few more to expand my OGAM force to Dragon Rampant or Midgard size...

Warmaster Empire Handgunners

Tarting up a few more of the old models from way back when. Some Middenland handgunners

Again these are some of the old unreleased test piece models made by the trainee sculptors for play testing before the game was released.

Pretty basic paint jobs that I largely left alone - just updated the basing mostly.

Empire Civil War - Game Four

After repulsing the Middenheim force at the border Stefan von Gausser has led his rampaging Nordlanders deep into enemy territory. The strategic hill known to the locals as Grosser Hundeschwanz dominates the floodplains and provides the ideal location to launch a final thrust against the Middenheimers.

I set up roughly a third of my force on the Hundeschwanz with the rest of my army arriving on table in the first turn. The Nordland invaders were arrayed ready to seize the hill and the initiative

Stephen had bought a Steam Tank!
A.Steam. Tank
To my Soldier Shack - previously a bastion of gentlemanly good behaviour!
(Don't worry, it's only one the other thingy is a Luminark)

He also had a *lot* of those nasty shooty-horsey blokes.

Unfortunately he was able to charge home on turn one - and my shooting was ineffective.

In retrospect perhaps I would have been better putting a big old unit of infantry on the hill and bringing the shooting on later to blow the Nordlanders away.
Hindsight, eh?

My pistoliers wisely fled the Babygriffs. Unwisely they refused to rally and ran off the board. Idiots.

Nordland closed in.

Tomasz der Dampf Panzer chugged his way to the top of the hill.

The Luminark engaged chariot mode and trundled in to the cannon

While the knights stalled in their advance on the crossbows

To the rescue!

Incredibly the single surviving crossbowman took a deep draft of Middenheim Pale Ale and held firm atop the hill!

Until the next turn.

The Babygriffs dealt with the misfiring mortar

Enthused by taking the hill the knights waded into the Flagellants.

The Babygriffs cleared up in backfield.

The knights found out that on the first turn Flagellants can be quite frisky.

The rescuers trundled forward

While Nordland consolidated.

Finally knights came to blows

And the Babygriffs had to deal with the Flagellants

Unfortunately the Nordland swordsmen got in on the knights.

Bolstered by their ranks the Nordland knights whupped the Middenheimers

Swords versus swords (balanced tipped by Babygriffs)

Inevitably the Middenheim swords went down under the combined assault leaving the fire wizard as the sole survivor.
A bad day for Middenheim.

But a great day for Warhammer, finest of ALL the games! Hurrah!
