Chain of Command 2 - US v Germans Game Six

And so to the last game of our playthrough of all the scenarios in the Chain of Command book.

Having lost the last game I was once again on the defensive.

Dawn breaks and an ominous rumbling and squeaking can be heard

Careless to have not bought any anti-tank guns with us...

And, with a village in the way Fritz has gone with a big HE gun.

Plenty of Panzer Grenadiers too

US forces swiftly line the wall

A brave bazooka team deploys

Aim

Blissfully unaware

Unfortunately the shot whizzes wide

At the wall casualties are mounting.

The tank rumbles closer

The yanks beat a hasty retreat

And seek shelter indoors

As another squad covers the street

A US machine gun arrives and begins to give Jerry a taste of his own medicine

But attracts a lot of fire in return.

The Germans are pinned but more are sneaking up behind the hedge.

Desperate times call for desperate measures and the bazooka team deploys again.

However it's another miss!

The German tank turns the full force of it's main gun on the bazooka team, blowing them clean out of the game and gaining a big win for the Germans.

So after six games of CoC 2 we seem to have got the hang of it and mostly we're back to me not being able to beat the Germans!
Next up we're planning to play the Old Hickory Pint Sized campaign. I just need to paint some new support choices first!

Tlingit v. Russians - Rebels and Patriots Game One

Almost five years since we originally played a game with James Tlingit and Russian collection he bought them over for another run out. This time we'd be using the Rebels and Patriots rules and had Pete, as resident R&P expert on hand to play too. All the models and scenery are James' work - I just provided the venue.

First game was the Tlingit attacking a Russian camp.

The Tlingit warriors, resplendent in their wooden armour land on the beach and approach the camp.

More of them sneak up the crude pathways.

The Russians and their Aleut allies are on the alert

And head for the barricades

Tlingit are coming from all sides

The noose tightens

The Tlingit warriors break cover

And the Russians man the barricades

Shooting begins and the Tlingit wooden armour proves no match for lead bullets.

The warriors close and pour fire of their own on the beleaguered Russians

Away from the gate to the camp the Aleut are tardy in reaching the barricades

As fighting continues to the south the Tlingit make their way to the defences

The Aleut rush to defend the camp but the Tlingit warriors have cur down the Russians

More Tlingit pour from the forest and into the camp

The Russians are overrun

The Tlingit are free to ransack the camp.

Camera pictures too

Arriving on the beach

The unsuspecting camp

Warriors assemble

And begin their advance

Closing in, the first shots are fired

Pressure mounts on the defenders

Fierce fighting as the warriors close

Archers pepper the barricades

Before rushing the defences

Native warriors clash

The barricade is stiffly defended

But more warriors are closing in

There are not enough defenders

The camp falls as the Russians are overrun.

Great fun game with a good narrative to it. On reflection perhaps a bit too loaded in favour of the Tlingit, perhaps a second unit of Russians arriving after a turn or two would have made for a closer affair?
