Warmaster Winter Warmer Game Three

My last game saw me remaining on the bottom table, uh-oh, looking like another wooden spoon was a real possibility.

My opponent was Lee with his very jolly Orc and Goblin army. Yes he had a lot of spellcasters all lined up to Gerroff! me about the place.

Thescenario was another of Alan's devisingthat involves six potential locations for an object - dicing to see if you find it whenever you contact an objective.

The Ice Queen assembled her forces.

I decided again to occupy the woods with infantry.

Orc armies are BIG!

he had some nasty looking rock lobbers too.

In short order some of my horse archers attacked some of his many wolf riders.
Lee rather suffered at this point (and indeed throughout the game) from what my gaming chums refer to as "Tom Dice".
Six shots on the way in, no hits at all.

The scary big lads pushed up in the middle

They looked a tough nut to crack.

I had some horse archers running interference in the centre of the Orc army

I misjudged things though and they got charged.

Which, even with Lee's poor dice did not end well for me.

Foolishly I shot some Trolls from behind, which pushed them into initiative charge range of my lancers.

Again this didn't end well.

However I'd got the artillery in my sights

As my horse were cut down.

In the end Lee had outscored me very slightly in kills but because I'd found the relic on the first turn and managed to hold on to it I gained an extra 300 points and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat!
Great fun game - Lee was very unlucky with dice for most of the game, but i failed a couple of charges late on that could have significantly tipped things in my favour.

it did feel like I was finally playing to the army strengths in the final game.
